About us

Divisor azul

At Sinfonía por el Perú, a non-profit organization led by the Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, we are committed to generating processes of social transformation through the collective teaching of music.

In our centers and modules, located in different parts of the Peruvian territory, girls, boys and young people from the program receive training aimed at forging life skills, artistic competences, as well as the practice of values and citizenship training. In these spaces, coexistence, a sense of community, excellence, comprehensive development and artistic training are encouraged.

Thanks to our work, the beneficiaries find a space for protection and development in their centers, strengthen their skills and values such as discipline, respect and teamwork, and, above all, they become agents of change for our society. Currently, we serve more than 6,000 children and adolescents in 10 regions of the country.

We promote the social development of girls, boys and young people in vulnerable situations through the teaching and collective practice of music, implementing safe spaces where positive habits for life are developed thanks to the transforming power of music.

At Sinfonía por el Perú we look at the future with hope. It is time to work to consolidate a solvent institution recognized for what we are: a social instrument capable of contributing to the development of children in Peru and also in Latin America and the world. We are in a position to offer girls, boys and young people in a vulnerable situation opportunities for growth and personal development using music as a vehicle for transformation.

At Sinfonía por el Perú we believe that Music can transform the world. Our work is aligned with universal principles such as human rights and the rights of the child, declared by the United Nations Organization. On the other hand, we guide our actions in order to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

Based on these guidelines, Sinfonía por el Perú understands that human development is based on the reduction of inequities, and the promotion of a life in plenitude, peace and equal opportunities.

In this constant search to build a better world, we recognize the importance of culture in the development of our society, and we encourage it. For this reason, our work seeks to contribute decisively to democratic access to culture, cultural employment and the right to creation, education and artistic freedom.

Our particular interest is to work so that children and young people in Peru and the world have access to musical training spaces in which they promote their capacities and potential to undertake, with autonomy, their life trajectories; and become agents of change for society.

Education must be transformative and allow us to make informed decisions and act individually and collectively with a view to changing our societies and caring for the planet. For this reason, the approaches of cultural diversity, inclusion, interculturality, prevention, human rights, gender and environmental sustainability are fundamental in the interventions of our programs.

We are witnesses and promoters of the enormous transformative power that art has and, especially, music. From its ability to impact, both individually and collectively, undoing forms and relationships imposed by inequality and violence, with that enormous cohesive power and social transformation that the collective artistic experience brings with it.

Sinfonía por el Perú, we transform lives through music.
