We present our new book memory: Symphony for Peru – A decade transforming lives

This compilation book gathers detailed information about our ten years of institutional life, actions and strategies in the field of social development, and our achievements around the promotion of opportunities for children and young people in our country, thanks to music as a tool for social transformation.

Thank you for joining us during this long journey of work, and for being part of our growth as an organization that promotes opportunities for social, human and artistic development through the wonderful transformative power of music.

Last year we celebrated 10 years transforming the lives of thousands of children and young people in vulnerable situations in Peru, thanks to the joint effort of a great work team, and thanks to the vision of our president and founder, the Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez. During this long journey of effort, perseverance, and perseverance, we face a great challenge as an organization at the end of our first decade of institutional life: the pandemic, social isolation, and the adaptation to which these contexts lead us. This prompted us to take important steps to continue our work for the thousands of beneficiaries that Symphony houses, and also gave us the opportunity to introspect and self-reflect on our work done during the first 10 years as agents of change. This series of steps led us to confirm our challenges and celebrate our achievements, as well as visualize a strategic planning that allows us to improve our methodology and increase the impact we will generate during the following years.

In this way, our book memory is born, where you will find passages of our history, our work, the challenges we face, the path traveled to strengthen our work as agents of social change that use the transformative power of music to improve the life opportunities of our children and childhood. the intervention and comprehensive training strategies we implement, and many other important aspects of our organization.

In Symphony for Peru we promote the integral development of people through music, and we highlight the role of art in humanity, consolidating agents of change for the transformation of the world in human and social terms. Under this same philosophy, all the agents who intervened for the creation of our Memory Book "Symphony for Peru – a decade transforming lives", worked together to build this compilation book that reflects our identity as a non-profit organization, and that efficiently communicates all social intervention policies, through musical education, on which we rely to meet our objectives.

César Oré, Associate Conductor of Symphony for Peru, also brings a broader perspective on the goals we set for ourselves, during our first decade, to grow as an entity that contributes to the development of children and solidify ourselves as a system: "we see the opportunity to make a more consistent and solid institution in terms of what a development program entails."

Symphony for Peru is a model of work articulated between the public and private sectors, local authorities and civil society, " says Gabriela Perona, General Manager of our organization, who also highlights the importance of being aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, which provide a broader vision of the mission we have as agents of human development.
